  husband drank the only I.P.A. I brought up north, ordered a Huma-Lupa-Licious yesterday and got an Amber. still trying!

  An IPA for the tasting this month as you know was not my favorite choice. So I figured if I am going to do it I would pick a really hoppy sucker. That being said, I have to say I picked up this brew and totally enjoyed it. GO FIGURE!!!

  Poured a medium cloudy amber with a very large white rocky head and had really nice lacing. The aroma was right up front with a strong dose of flowery hops, a mild moldy yeast, and just a splash of grain malts with notes of citrus (grapefruit) and a touch of peach. It tasted ever so lightly sweet and mildly bitter with hints of peach and citrus at first then became a tad more on the bitter side with a nice spice note and a very pronounced hoppy finish that was left hanging on the palate for a good long duration. Mouthfeel was kind of light in body and nice and dry in texture with a nice lively carbonation. Overall a refreshing IPA with the 3 timed hop flavor actually working very well on the tastebuds.

  Green Flash West Coast IPA
  Green Flash Brewing Co., Vista, CA
  7.3% ABV; 95 IBUs
  
  Attempted to decant off of the sediment in the bottle, but managed to allow some into the glass, resulting in a churning display of medium-to-large particles circulated by the vigorous carbonation. Lovely amber hue but somewhat hazy. Dense, meringue-like and rocky off-white/cream-colored head releases a massive hop aroma with notes of orange oil, grapefruit, and pine resin.
  
  Bracingly hoppy up front with some mildly sweet tang immediately overrun by a solid bitterness. Some nice caramel and lightly toasted malt provide support, but this is indeed an archetypal American west coast IPA. Grapefruit, old oranges, orange blossom water, and pine are all evident. The flavors mingle and evolve ending in a dry grapefruit pith note. Carbonation is nowhere near as active on the palate as it appeared to be in the glass; texture is smooth and creamy. Thick foam persists most of the way down, leaving thick rings and some sheeting behind. The finish is ridiculously long-lasting, bitter and hoppy.
  
  Stellar brew for hop addicts. One of my faves and well worth the price of admission.

  I was out and about yesterday so this one is late sorry.
  
  Beer/Brewery - Lagunitas IPA/ Lagunitas Brewing Company
  
  B+ / 3.8
  look: 4.5 | smell: 3.5 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 5 | overall: 4
  
  City/State- Petaluma, CA
  STYLE – American-Style India Pale Ale
  ABV – 6.2%
  IBU – 46
  DATE – 13 JUN 2011
  SERVING TYPE – 12 ox Bottle
  GLASSWARE – Standard Mug
  APPEARANCE – A golden orange with a hint of brownness to it. Poured with a nice foamy head that diminished down quickly to around ¼ inch with some larger bubbles in the head.
  AROMA- Grapefruit
  TASTE – Matching the aroma with a blast of grapefruit, and the hoppy bitterness you would expect from an IPA
  MOUTHFEEL – Crisp but with a thickness with the after taste, almost makes me feel like I should chew even though nothing is left. Weird
  CONCLUSION – As I have stated before I am not big on IPAs, I have found a few I like but this one is a little too much grapefruit for me. Although I really like the texture of this IPA. Well I guess I will take the good with the bad.
