American Pale Ale Tasting - July 16th - 31st

  O Nogne O Pale Ale product of Norway. I like to scope out health food stores, or world markets i always find something new.
  this pale ale has a light sent of citrus and wheat, full bodied golden honey color, taste light on hops slight hints of caramel, orange, and lemon, a wheat finish resembling a hefeweizen. A great all around beer perfect for wrapping up a Sunday BBQ!

  Rising Sun Pale Ale, 5.00% ABV
  Baird beer, Numazu, Japan
  
  The Rising Sun Pale Ale from Baird Beer in Numazu, Japan pours out a golden orange in color with some floating sediment and a one finger, foamy white head. On the nose aromas of pine, citrus, bread, caramel and grain. In the mouth this starts out tart then subdues a little with some sweetness coming in to play before the hops take over leaving a lovely bitterness. Flavors of orange, grapefruit, iced tea, caramel with some peppery spice. Light side of medium bodied. Good lacing. Well carbonated. Cream and oil in the mouthfeel. More hop on the finish with spice. A very nice pale ale but there is a draw back. At $4.99 per 12 ounce bottle that makes this a $30.00 6-pack of beer.

  Isekadoya Pale Ale, 5.00% ABV
  Nikenjayamochi Kadoya Honten Co., Mie-ken Ise-shi, Japan
  
  The Isekadoya Pale Ale from Nikenjayamochi Kadoya Honten Co. in Mie-ken Ise-shi, Japan pours out golden orange in color with some cloud and a large, frothy, off-white head that sticks around. On the nose aromas of orange, lemon, caramel and a little bready malt. In the mouth this is very well balanced with flavors of honey, caramel, citrus rind and a little pine. Medium bodied. Fantastic lacing. Moderate carbonation. Round mouthfeel that is very full and slightly creamy. Nice hops on the finish. An excellent Pale Ale but expensive at $6.99/500ml bottle

  I'm a huge fan of pale ales that aren't too hoppy. Summer beers and Pilsners win! Here's my Examiner.com post about pairing summer ale and Greek food I tested the theory with Brooklyn's summer ale, but I strongly suspect any of your suggestions and pale ales would work.Mark, your description of the Acme just about made me drool. :-)
  
  
  I'll try the Brooklyn! Gotta be better than Greek beer... Athenian is just a Heineken knock-off, Mythos is better, but not by much. When I eat Greek, it's usually with a cold Retsina wine. I'll give the beer pairing another go, though. Opa!

  Blue Heron Pale Ale, 6.10% ABV
  Mendocino Brewing Company, Ukiah, California
  
  The Blue Heron Pale Ale from Mendocino Brewing Company in Ukiah, California pours out a light golden orange with good clarity and a foamy, white head that hangs on for a while. On the nose scents of citrus, fruit, yeast and a slight sweetness. In the mouth there is a good hop bite that is somewhat subdued at first then intensifies, nice spice and just a touch of sweetness too. Fairly carbonated. On the light side of medium bodied. Good lacing. Mild graininess to the mouthfeel. The finish is on the dry side with nice hop notes. A good Pale Ale that has a hop bite to it.

  Mirror Pond Pale Ale, 5.00% ABV
  Deschutes Brewery, Bend, Oregon
  
  The Mirror Pond Pale Ale from Deschutes Brewery in Bend, Oregon pours out light amber in color with good clarity and a frothy, white head that dissipates fairly quickly. On the nose there is caramel, citrus and floral notes. Lovely taste made up of bread, caramel, malt and citrus hops (mostly orange flavored to me). Good amount of carbonation. Light side of medium bodied. Nice lacing. Pretty clean mouthfeel with just a little oiliness. Nice hops on the finish balanced with some sweetness. A very good Pale Ale slightly skewed to the hop side. Well worth buying.

  Odell Brewing Fort Collins, Co. 5 Barrel pale ale A unique recipe a five hop brewing process. A golden colored ale, with a nose opening smell of honey and lily. with a taste of a surger citrus almost grape fruit, a very clean finish with a little hop to it. Odell's is a perfection brewery and it shows in this pale ale.

  Flying Dog Denver Co. Does it doggie style light brown in color, a aroma of malt, and pear a clean taste with really no hop
  bite. A great beer for the dog days of summer a brew any k9 would enjoy even though dogs drink out the toilet.
