We definitely have a bastion of beery goodness out here in the CO. Over 100 breweries and counting. We've had 3 open here in Southern Colorado in the last year, and a handful up in Northern Colorado as well. The economy does not seem to be affecting micro beers.

But hey, you Cali folk (I lived in SoCal for 5 years and another 22 in NoCal, but have been out here in CO for 6 years now) have some great breweries as well!

New Belgium Brewing has a pretty big footprint when it comes to distribution. Given time I hope some of the other up and coming bigger breweries (Left Hand, Breckenridge will be able to make it out there. I love New Belgium beer, but they aren't even close to the only game in town. ;)  less

  • About Me I am a freelance writer specializing in all things craft beer and video games... and whatever else strikes my fancy. I currently write for several beer related websites (and soon to be a few prestigious beer mags). If anyone "Must Love Beer".. it's me.

My philosophy on beer goes something like this:

Beer is the elixir of the gods. It's a beverage made of hops, barley and a pantheon of other delicacies that when looked at properly - through beer goggles perhaps - has changed the course of human history. When not imbibing great Colorado craft brews I'm writing about them somewhere on the Interweb.

Life is too short to drink crappy beer.

Save the Earth... it's the only planet with beer!

Beer with altitude! Colorado ain't called the "Napa Valley of the Beer World" for nothing! The Rocky Mountain state:

    Has over 100 microbreweries
Produces more beer than any other state
Has won the second most GABF medals
Is home to the Great American Beer Festival, American Homebrewer's Association and the Brewer's Association
Might have more beer festivals than any other state

Why not join the fun!? Come mingle and (virtually) imbibe with fellow craft beer dudes and dudettes!
