My mom lives in Kalamath Falls and my best army buddy from Germany lives in Portland. As for the beer glasses I have relaxed a little about that but every now and again I get a bug up my butt about glasses. Sometimes a juice glass is all you need. Othertimes a hefeweitzen just seems off if not served in a weitzen glass. You gotta get that last bit of yeast from dregs at the bottom of the bottle.
I have observed that who I am drinking with and where can be just as important to me. Sometimes it's not so important to have the "right glass" but more important what the atmosphere of the situation is..  less

    oregonbeerlover: Wow Dennis...

The right glass for the style...you are hardcore! Somehow our beer steins and glasses always seem to be in storage boxes so we are drinking out of our water glasses...not optimal, but essential I guess in order to get the beer drank....  more

You are lucky to have spent some time in Germany. Want to get over to Oktoberfest in Munich some year soon! Thanks for the add!

  • About Me I lived in Germany for 4 years and have a special appreciation for beer. When I am being serious about my tastings I always make sure that I am drinking my beer in the correct glass for it's style.
In my opinion it's a sin for Hefeweitzen to be served on tab!

  • Mark Congrats South Carolina! The State House just approved the so called "Pint Bill" that will allow breweries to sell 48 ounces of beer to a person every 24 hours. No more tiny samples if you're wanting a pint - as long as the Governor signs the bill.

  • Virtual Craft Beer Tasting Club
    483 members
This group is designed to share notes about beer, as well as tasting notes and suggestions and get to know beer lovers from all over the globe. Here's the idea: We have themed tasting. In advance, if possible, we will pick a Style of Beer we're going to taste, then we trade tasting notes. The tasting period will be over two weeks so we get an outpouring of related tasting notes, which will spur deep discussions.... Check the Discussion area for what the tasting will be.
