The aroma was mild of a light grain malt, floral and grassy hops and a doughy yeast with a note of citrus (lemon and grapefruit) and a light fruity ester (apple and pears). The taste was lightly bitter and rather grainy with a mild fruitiness from the start, becoming lightly hoppy with a nice grapefruit presence and a bitter lemon peel taste towards the finish. The aroma was of burnt dark bread malts, a mild resin hop and a bold leathery yeast with notes of baker's chocolate, coffee, vanilla and a light smoky presence. The taste was extremely malty and very roasty with a huge bitter chocolate note which was present throughout, and then became slightly bitterer with a mild coffee taste and a hint of smoke towards the finish. This group is designed to share notes about beer, as well as tasting notes and suggestions and get to know beer lovers from all over the globe. Here's the idea: We have themed tasting. In advance, if possible, we will pick a Style of Beer we're going to taste, then we trade tasting notes. The tasting period will be over two weeks so we get an outpouring of related tasting notes, which will spur deep discussions.... Check the Discussion area for what the tasting will be.
