    Mark Minimum pricing for alcohol may become a reality in Scotland and the rest of the UK. BrewDog likes the idea saying it will stop macro producers from selling beer cheaply to undercut craft brewers. The proposed minimum price is £0.50 or about $0.80.

  • Ten new Colorado breweries are rolling out this summer
    The gang's all beer in Colorado these days, with at least ten -- count 'em, ten -- brewpubs slated to start pouring before the end of summer. Two opened north of town this past weekend: Big Choice in Broomfield and City Star in Berthoud, both following closely on the heels of Frederick's Echo Brewing. There are currently 141 licensed craft breweries in Colorado, pumping $446 million a year into the state economy, and another seventy-plus in the planning stages.

    Alright people. This Saturday, May 19, Solemn Oath Brewery's Storefront & Taproom will open to the public for the first time from 11AM-8PM. We will also be open Sunday from 11AM-5PM, so feel free to come both days.

The self-labeled Beer Geeks would then relay discoveries to a loyal audience by way of amateur videos and blog commentary at thebeergeek.com.
  • BrewDog Backs Minimum Pricing
    BrewDog were the first company to publically back the Scottish Governments proposals for a minimum price per unit alcohol policy. As the proposal looks set to become reality we feel the step will only help get more people drinking great quality craft beer. In addition it will be a further nail in the coffin of the industrial brewers who are becoming more and more out of touch with beer drinkers in the UK.
  • Governor signs beer bottle bill into law
    Gov. Robert Bentley has signed into a law a bill that will increase the maximum size for beer bottles sold in Alabama. The Gourmet Bottle Bill, which was passed last week by the Alabama House, will lift the maximum bottle size to 25.4 ounces from the current limit of 16 ounces. That would allow sales of the 22-ounce, 750-milliliter bottles used by many craft breweries.
  • New laws will help Virginia craft breweries
    Governor McDonnell recently signed legislation that will help local craft breweries dispense their brews to the public and make things easier for new breweries to start their businesses.
