It created a predictable amount of hubbub on the intertubes and didn't seem to warrant a post from me, so I Facebooked it, whereupon a debate broke out. The issue is nicely summed up by a slugline to the Slate piece is "the craft beer industry’s love affair with hops is alienating people who don’t like bitter brews." Well, is it?

At some point this year, a person who claims to love beer is going to say that Oliver isn't a craft brewer because of a stance his company took on excise taxes.     A new option for beer drinkers in Delaware: Liquor stores can now fill and sell 64 ounce growlers. Previously, selling the glass or porcelain jugs of beer was limited to local breweries and brew pubs. Governor Jack Markell joined local brewers at the Fordham Old Dominion brewery in Dover Thursday to sign the bill which enjoyed bipartisan support. It was passed by the State House and Senate in less than a month.
