I have been to all the beer regions, various breweries, the Oktoberfest etc, and I am a professional brewer. So if anyone is planning a beery trip to Germany (which I would heartily recommend) and could use some practical advise, please don't be afraid to ask.
I am happy to be a resource for any beer lover who is thinking of visiting Germany for the first time, so far as I can be.
I mean even stuff like recommending good value hotels, for example - doesn't have to be strictly beer related, as the best advise regarding beer in Germany is just to drink as wide a variety as possible!  less

Rod → oregonbeerlover: Have a good trip to Alaska - in the kind of temperature I expect you're going to find there, I'd recommend our IPA, London Porter and our Winter Time if they're available! Have one for me!

oregonbeerlover: Hey Rod... you are not a fraud. You just need to come to Oregon and drink some brew. And if you can find some there, pick one up and give it a try! We're looking forward to trying Meantime when we get to Anchorage next week!

Charles Dickens used to go there as a child with his uncle and get stood on a table to sing for the regulars. Course somebody'd get arrested if that happened now! They always have 3 or 4 good cask ales on - the Timothy Taylors is my favourite. A really good example of an English draft Bitter.
The Thames laps against the back wall of the pub and there's a tiny river terrace where you can stand and watch the river and the seagulls.
Oh well, back to the Brewery tomorrow!  less

Hi there! Meantime's beers are exported to the Land of the free, the Home of the Brave. I saw the yardmen loading a container today that they said was heading across the pond.
I'm a humble brewer, not a sales guy, but I'll talk to someone in the sales office and get you a contact.
I know that certainly at one time a company called, I think, Artisanal Products of Austin, Texas took some of our kegged products.
Answer's yes - I'll get you some details.
    Thanks for your interest too!

I see that Spaten Oktoberfestbier is one of your favourites - mine too. I wouldn't like to tell you how much I drank the day I visited the Oktoberfest............
    Glad we're freinds

    oregonbeerlover: Hi Rod...

Got to try your IPA at the brew fest. It was very good, and you are right, very different than an American IPA. Had no bitterness whatsoever. Loved it!

  • Mark Congrats South Carolina! The State House just approved the so called "Pint Bill" that will allow breweries to sell 48 ounces of beer to a person every 24 hours. No more tiny samples if you're wanting a pint - as long as the Governor signs the bill.
