RoughDraughtBeer A pale ale. It was a "from-the-box" type recipe kit, but that's a good place to start it think. We'll see how it turns out.

HEISCHMAN I am thinking about brewing again this weekend. I need to get a 2nd Carboy though. I want to Rack the ESB to 2nd fermenter and I used my 6 gal carboy for 1st fermenting.

RoughDraughtBeer We're just using buckets for fermentation, but, without thinking it through thoroughly, we put 5 gallons of beer in a 5 gallon fermenter. We got some beer bubble up into the air lock. I'm going to get a larger bucket soon.

HEISCHMAN There is nothing wrong with using buckets, I did the batch I'm drinking right now in a bucket. I just like to watch the yeast do its thing.

  • Mark Congrats South Carolina! The State House just approved the so called "Pint Bill" that will allow breweries to sell 48 ounces of beer to a person every 24 hours. No more tiny samples if you're wanting a pint - as long as the Governor signs the bill.
  • KajII I want one...
  • HEISCHMAN Bought my first package beer on a Sunday in Dawsonville GA this weekend!!
  • jbladen Just picked up a Duclaw Repent. Has anyone ever had one? It's 14%! I'm not a big fan of belgians but this one is described as a dark ale. Plus, I love Duclaw.
