At the Broad Street Café, we bring fantastic food, diverse entertainment and our local community together.
We’re as committed to flavor and fun as we are to being Durham’s central meeting place. With nightly live entertainment, we offer something for everybody, whether you’re six or 60. We have a full-service bar with 10 beers on tap, more than 20 bottled beers, fine wine, mixed drinks and high-quality coffee. We provide a relaxing atmosphere all day, where you can surf the Internet using our free WiFi while enjoying our fresh coffee and lunch fare.
We opened The Broad Street Cafe to offer a full-service restaurant, bar and entertainment venue that would provide a community anchor; a place where folks could get together, have a great time and eat delicious food without spending too much. We offer wonderful wood-fired pizza, soups, salads, sandwiches and specials—all with a creative twist. We make almost all of our food from scratch—from roasting our own turkey to baking all of our desserts in-house. And our head chef, Daphne Lagasse, adds her own flavorful flair to every dish. Our ingredients are fresh, and our portions are more than satisfying at a fair price. Whenever possible, we support local farmers, artisans, merchants and businesses.
The Broad Street Cafe has live music five nights a week, with a diversity of styles. Weekly programming includes: Bluegrass, Open Mic/Blues, Folk, Indie, and Rock. We have a large stage that musicians love, an excellent sound system and trained sound experts ...and we don’t charge cover prices, except for special events. We also support a wide variety of events including poetry readings, theater, non-profit fundraisers and dance.
