Zach → Virtual Craft Beer Tasting Club: Feb 16 - March 31 is going to be a lot of fun, love me some IPA's. What about RIPA's?

Zach → Pennsylvania Beer Enthusiasts: My wife is originally from the steel city, and our last trip out that way she opened my eyes to the local varieties of beer, good times.

Zach → oregonbeerlover: Yea, RIPA just uses Rye instead of Barely. Personally I love rye, but have trouble finding brews here that actually use it. I'll have to find the RIPA I had before and give it another drink.

oregonbeerlover: If you want to post an RIPA under the Virtual Tasting go for it. Are they good? Those are made with Rye right?

The Haystack Wheat is also quite good, along with most everything I have tried from them so far. Also, if you're an IPA fan (as I am) you should attempt to get a hold of the Boulevard Double Wide IPA. Made in Kansas City, so I don't know if it makes it to Oregon.

oregonbeerlover: I just tried three beers from Left Hand that I thought were great: their Milk Stout, Snow Bound Winter Ale, and the Smokejumper Imperial Porter. Good stuff coming out of Longmont!

  • Mark Congrats South Carolina! The State House just approved the so called "Pint Bill" that will allow breweries to sell 48 ounces of beer to a person every 24 hours. No more tiny samples if you're wanting a pint - as long as the Governor signs the bill.

Beer with altitude! Colorado ain't called the "Napa Valley of the Beer World" for nothing! The Rocky Mountain state:

    Has over 100 microbreweries
Produces more beer than any other state
Has won the second most GABF medals
Is home to the Great American Beer Festival, American Homebrewer's Association and the Brewer's Association
Might have more beer festivals than any other state

Why not join the fun!? Come mingle and (virtually) imbibe with fellow craft beer dudes and dudettes!

This group is designed to share notes about beer, as well as tasting notes and suggestions and get to know beer lovers from all over the globe. Here's the idea: We have themed tasting. In advance, if possible, we will pick a Style of Beer we're going to taste, then we trade tasting notes. The tasting period will be over two weeks so we get an outpouring of related tasting notes, which will spur deep discussions.... Check the Discussion area for what the tasting will be.
