Most bars have a tradition that every time a plow truck goes by everybody does a shot. Maine is chugging out some great beers and we even have a beer cafe called Novare Res...to start a revolution. They serve only high end beers from around the world...over 200! It's grrreat! Have heard good things about Houston and Austin' but...dry counties dude, dry counties less

BeerCrisis: LOL! Yeah, you get into those small towns and it is no bueno. Most have a "membership" you can buy that enables an establishment to sell you beer/wine. Very weird. Fortunately, here in Katy/Houston, we just have to deal with Sunday's noon rule. :-)

About Me
When I was a teenager my drink of choice was bourbon. I didn't even start drinking beer till I was almost 20 years old. Unfortunately I did not have the appreciation for beer that I do now. Now I looooove beer, good heady beers. I say no to mainstream beers! and I am lucky enough to live in a state that has some amazing micro-breweries.

Favorite Beers
Anything from Allagash brewery, Geary's. German styles, Belgian styles, european farmhouse style as well as Lambic's. I am a malty girl. I can appreciate a good balanced hoppy beer like Magic Hat's H.I.P.A but feel like there is too much emphasis being put on Hop's in a lot of the new brew's coming out.
This group is designed to share notes about beer, as well as tasting notes and suggestions and get to know beer lovers from all over the globe. Here's the idea: We have themed tasting. In advance, if possible, we will pick a Style of Beer we're going to taste, then we trade tasting notes. The tasting period will be over two weeks so we get an outpouring of related tasting notes, which will spur deep discussions.... Check the Discussion area for what the tasting will be.
A group for all fans of German Bier, whether you're German or not - from the lightest Koelsch to the darkest, fullest Doppelbock. Let's trade stories and information about beer adventures in Germany, and tasting notes and recommendations regarding great German bier.
